There are tons of things to do and see for the whole family but what about those of us that are single and out for a good time? Luckily, Cleveland also has a bustling nightlife for those of us who like to live in the moment. Below is a small list of the best bars and clubs in Cleveland. Find the one that’s right for you, then call a cab, activate the Home Security System and abandon your inhibitions at the front door!

We’ll start with the “Winking Lizard.”
Overshadowed by Progressive Field, the “lizard” has the perfect atmosphere for both sports fans and those looking for something a little more sophisticated. The food isn’t half-bad either.

Next on the list is the “Thirsty Parrot.”
Being close enough to the Quicken Loans Arena, you can actually sit out on the patio and hear everything that’s happening at the big game.

There’s also “Champps Americana.”
Choose any one of their three locations and get immersed in their cozy, cavernous environment and gear up for a night of sports, wholesome food and reverie.

And if maybe a good game of pool is what you’re looking for than swing on by the “House of Cues.”
Ample televisions and ample pool tables await you.

Cleveland, Ohio stands out in most people’s minds as the birth of rock and roll due to the city’s address as home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and because of the metropolitan area’s willingness to embrace a new kind of music that launched in the fifties and lives on in present day.

Forward thinking deejay Alan Freed, a.k.a. Moondog, (1921 to 1965) backed bands he claimed were going to rise as the next big thing in music. He gets credit for labeling the tunes “rock and roll” along with setting up the first ever concert for rock and roll enthusiasts titled “The Moondog Coronation Ball.’ Tickets sold for less than 2, according to reporter Vivian Goodman for WSKU radio station out of Cleveland, Ohio. The concert never took place that year because of overcrowding. The location could handle only so many music goers. The next year saw the performance happen. However, the concert that never was gained the title as the first rock and roll performance in Cleveland’s history.

Famous acts that call Cleveland home, both past and present, include the Raspberries, Nine Inch Nails, James Gang, Marilyn Manson, Amazing Pink Holes and Tracy Chapman.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame opened in 1995 in downtown Cleveland. The foundation dates back to its inception in New York city during the eighties. Many famous rock and roll performers received a prestigious induction into the hall of fame. Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley were among the first rock stars to get induced, leading a trend that continues on each year in present day.You thought this was good? Brace yourself: The Rock Hall Needs Your Help Getting To SXSW

A trip to Cleveland Ohio would not be complete without a stop at the West Side Market. Locals have enjoyed this colorful and exciting market since 1912. The building alone is worth a visit. With its Byzantine architecture and adjacent clock tower, it is sure to impress people of all backgrounds. Inside they have 44 foot high ceilings done in terracotta tiles, and there are wonderful pictures of animals decorating the columns.
This indoor/outdoor market is located in the western neighborhood of Ohio City. The 180 vendors offer all sorts of ethnic delicacies from a variety of cultures for guests to explore. The West Side Market does an excellent job of combining quality foods with quite affordable prices. This is one of the reasons it is such a hit with the locals. Beautiful fresh produce and dairy products are only a few of the many foods available here. Several bakeries have fresh breads and irresistible sweets on display. One can even buy varieties of fresh cut flowers from the flower vendors located in the outside part of the market. The West Side Market is also one of the best spots to purchase quality meats and seafood in the Cleveland area.
